Hiking to Lisina, the highest point of
the park at 938m , offers a wide panoramic view of this part
of the Krajina. The park is a lovely nature reserve and the
park managment is working hard to develop services to make
the park easier accessible and navigatable.
There are mini ski lifts and there is a ski rental in
the winter months. There is a hotel and restaurant in the national park
complex.

Park: www.npkozara.com/eng/
ECO-CENTRE LONCARI
This interesting experiment is on the halfway mark between
Banja Luka and Prijedor. Armed with only a beautiful piece
of property, a few men had a vision of creating an
eco-centre in the Omarska area. They built a 30-acre park
complete with walking paths, ten ponds/lakes for fishing and
swimming, and a health food restaurant. The dense hardwood
forests cover a good part of the centre and there are
walking trails through them. Hunting is not permitted.
Loncari (tel: 052 333 267; email:
j.lekanic@mediaproline.net
) has camping facilities, and is
perfect for backpackers looking for a safe and inexpensive
place to camp while traveling through or towards Bihac or
Banja Luka. Many buses travel through the outskirts of
Omarska via Prijedor and Banja Luka. There are a few daily
buses from both those places that stop in Omarska.
