High
mountains surrounding the fields of Livno, Duvno and Kupres
provide great paragliding sites, whereas the fields with
herds of wild horses are just breathtaking.
Hiking fans can attend hiking tours held each
year from April to November (Cincar, Vran, Cvrsica or Dinara
mountains).
There are also six hunting spots and fishing
is great in the largest artificial lake in Europe - Busko
Lake and the nearby crystal clear rivers with plenty of fish
and river crabs. Krug hill, only 10 kilometres from Livno is
a tranquillity haven interrupted only by wild horses’
gallop. Over 200 stunning horses crossing over 10 kilometres
daily, can be seen around Koricina and Borova glava hills as
well.
Legends about Mijat Tomic, a mystical local hajduk
(outlaw) from the 17th century, are told in many stories and
folk songs. In 1999, Hajducka druzina (Hajduk Troop) was
established in his honour and it is now the host of many
cultural events in the region. The Cave of Mijat Tomic is
located on the Vran Mountain, 25 km from Tomislavgrad (in
the Nature Park „Blidinje“). According to a legend this was
where Mijat, the freedom fighter against the Turkish rule,
was hiding.
